Support for the families of separated parents

Buzz supports families of separated parents with practical guidance and emotional support. Based in Sheffield, we've helped families across Yorkshire feel heard, understood and confident for over 20 years.

Case Study

Adam and Alice

Adam couldn’t see his daughter, Alice, unaccompanied. Family arrangements had broken down, leaving him feeling powerless, distraught, and judged. He desperately missed his little girl.

Alice was struggling, too. She didn’t understand why her dad wasn’t coming to see her. She felt sad and started making up stories to her friends about fun weekends together.

We matched Alice with a Family Practitioner experienced in working with children her age and someone who shared her love of football! Their first meeting? A kick-about, of course.

With the right support, Adam and Alice rebuilt their bond. Find out more about how we can support your family going through this time of change.

Support Us

Support children, strengthen families, share your values

Up to 1 million children in the UK run the risk of losing contact with a separated parent. Every year, Buzz helps hundreds of children and families navigate the challenges of separation. We’re a small, impactful charity based in Sheffield, spanning Yorkshire and nationally where we can provide services virtually.

Help us to continue our work, please consider partnering with us, fundraising for us, or making a donation.

For me as a parent, I wish we knew about Buzz earlier. Buzz is somewhere safe and more like a play group/ fun centre so it isn’t an alien place for either parents that struggle with anxiety or children. Thank you so much to each and everyone of you. You all do an amazing job.

Parent

We have been using the Centre for a while and due to the circumstance the involvement of contact centre staff has been instrumental for our children having any relationship with their dad, and has certainly been beneficial to their emotional and educational needs. Thanks for your continued support.
